Our Newcastle Business Lunch events begin 2019 with an exceptional guest speaker, Sir Peter Vardy of the Vardy Foundation.
Joining us at Jesmond Dene House, after lunch, Sir Peter Vardy will be interviewed by Gary Lumby in an informal one to one and will take questions from the floor.
Reg Vardy started in the automotive retail industry in 1923 and the family business grew over the years being passed on to Sir Peter, under his direction the company reached the top ranks of European motor dealers with over 6000 employees in the UK. Peter Vardy Ltd is the operating name of the company today, which continues to evolve in a new era for the automotive sector.
Aligned to the business is the Peter Vardy Foundation, 10% of profits are donated to good causes in the UK and further afield with a focus on improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people. Each dealership has a dedicated charity partnership and every new employee is given £100 to donate to a charity of their choice. The Peter Vardy Foundation is a hugely important part of the business and we look forward to learning much more about how this is embraced.
Sir Peter undertakes very few public speaking engagements now and we are truly honoured that he is joining us for the January lunch and very much look forward to the interview and Q&A.
