Professor Jane Turner is a both resilient and determined, from the earliest years of her working life she has faced challenges head on and worked hard to achieve her goals.
As a single mother she studied part-time for 13 years whilst becoming a leadership specialist with Orange and then Benfield Motors and became Associate Dean at Northumbria University. After completing a Masters and Professional Doctorate in Business Leadership, in 2015 Jane was appointed Professor of Enterprise, all achieved through part time study.
In 2017 Jane was awarded an OBE for her Services to Business, her current role as Pro Vice Chancellor (Enterprise and Business Engagement) Teesside University is balanced with a personal battle with ovarian cancer.
Jane has told Northern Insight Magazine her presentation on 4th March will be:
“ A presentation from a leader who can talk about personal challenges and resilience, as well as looking at the economic prosperity of the region in terms of skills, gender balance and raising aspiration”
Jane features in the Northern Power Women Power list for 2018 and has partnered with Simone Roache, the founder of Northern Power Women, aimed at raising the profile of women in the Tees Valley, it is no coincidence that Jane champions the gender agenda at Teesside University.
Touching the subjects of business, recession, gender balance, raising aspirations and personal battles, Jane is going to deliver an honest and lively presentation.
